Synopsis: - A Payer's Perspective, Amy Kearney, Director ICD 10/HIPAA 5010
Amy Kearney, Director from TriWest Healthcare Alliance, will be presented her company’s readiness efforts for HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10 from a payer’s perspective. She highlighted some of the changes that come along with implementation of HIPAA 5010 for the industry as a whole, as well as walked through the activities that TriWest has accomplished so far, and reviewed their project management approach on both initiatives. She also highlighted some of the milestones for the implementation of HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10, including test plans, outreach to providers, and their communication plan.

She currently serves on the HIMSS Electronic Health Record Adoption Committee, HIMSS ICD-10 Task Force, and Editorial Board Member for Medical Record Briefings. Elaine was the recipient of AHIMA’s Visionary Award. Elaine Lips, RHIA is President & CEO of ELIPSe, Inc., a HIM consulting firm dedicated to transforming Health Information Management (HIM).
